Shit Parents are Responsible for Child's Crimes

My opinion, for what it's worth, is that the majority of problems we currently face in British society is down to poor parenting.

If your kids turn out to be driving around in a van full of explosives near an airport used by the USA, then you've done a really shit job of being a parent.

Or envisage a grooming gang made up of brothers, or at least members of the same family (uncles, cousins etc.). And imagine, if you can, a mother who not only has one paedo amongst her kids, but all her sons are child molesters …. As are her brothers! That mum has to look at herself and say, 'Oh shit, I've been a truly shit mother. I could have done better.'

What kind of parent brings a kid up to take a machete to a party? I don't know about you, but I bring a bottle of wine.

And these are hardly new concepts. Pythagoras, 500 years before Christ was born, said, 'Educate the children and you won't need to punish the men.'

But myself and old Pie are hardly the only ones to realise this key insight into the values of good parenting, and the results of poor parenting. Theodore Roosevelt, back in the 19th century, said, 'To educate a man in mind and not in morals is to educate a menace to society.'

So, although I agree with very little the Labour Party says - and I know they lie about everything - when they discuss reforms to the Youth Justice System, whereby parents could lose their benefits or face prison sentences for their children's crimes, I totally agree with that concept. Parents, and that includes immigrant parents, need to fully understand their duties and responsibilities to not only the child but to society as a whole.

I'll go further, I believe the parents of immigrants, who should be teaching their kids to be thoroughly grateful to the country and the society that has taken them in, should be deported if they fail in that task and their kids turn out to be violent criminals.
