Free Speech

So three days ago I was banned from posting in groups on Facebook because a post of mine received over 6400 'likes' on one group alone.

I've no idea how many 'likes' it eventually received because it's now been taken down by that group's admin (which tells me more about the admin of that group than it does about by post). Either way, with 6400 'likes' I doubt very much whether my post offended community standards.

Anyway, I've now discovered that this is quite common. A sudden, massive spike in engagement (like 6400+ likes) will trigger Facebook’s automated anti-spam algorithms (even though it wasn't spam - just an opinion on current affairs), and this has been misinterpreted as viral human activity or a even a bot.

You can't win, can you?

I could suggest that free speech is a a fundamental human right that allows us to share opinions, ideas and information without facing censorship, penalties or retaliation of any kind ..... but what's the point?
